This role sits on the core infrastructure team , where you'll architect and scale systems that power modular billing engines, low-level energy-market communication protocols, and full accounting ledgers. What You'll Do Solve for complexity through design — tackle hard architectural problems and design systems that remain clean and maintainable as they scale. Scale the core — build and evolve the backbone infrastructure that supports dynamic electricity plans and reliable billing at scale. Bias for action — ship with speed and confidence; move projects forward decisively in an ambiguous, fast-paced environment. Raise the bar — champion engineering excellence through code reviews, technical discussions, and leading by example. What We're Looking For Must-have: Proficiency in backend development using TypeScript (Node.js) with a strong grasp of asynchronous programming — this is a dealbreaker requirement. Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL and at least one ORM (Drizzle preferred) for data access. Experience with Next.js , including API routes or server components for backend services. Familiarity with distributed systems concepts and designing scalable, maintainable core services. C1+ English language proficiency (written and verbal). Nice to have: Experience integrating Stripe payments and related billing flows. Exposure to the broader stack: Temporal, Hono, Tailwind, Fragment. Strong CS fundamentals — formal degree or equivalent practical experience. Ownership mindset with strong written and verbal communication skills.
