Data Engineer / Data Scientist (m/f/x) Targomo is transforming how companies understand locations, markets, and customers through powerful location intelligence . Our technology empowers retailers, hospitality brands, real estate players, and data-driven organizations to make smarter strategic decisions with confidence. We are looking for a curious and analytical engineer to help drive our data products forward, with a focus on our footfall data products. You will work on challenging data engineering and data science problems involving large-scale geospatial datasets, designing robust processing pipelines while also contributing to the design and evolution of the data products themselves. This is a role for someone who enjoys understanding complex systems, thinking critically about trade-offs, and building solutions that are both technically sound and maintainable. Rather than simply implementing predefined tasks, you will be expected to investigate problems, challenge assumptions, and develop thoughtful solutions. What You’ll Do Drive the end-to-end development and maintenance of our footfall data products. Design, build, and improve scalable data pipelines for ingesting, transforming, and processing large datasets. Work on data product design, evaluating methodologies, data quality, and analytical approaches to improve our products. Analyze complex technical problems and develop efficient, maintainable solutions. Identify opportunities to automate manual workflows and improve existing processes. Ensure data processing workflows are reliable through testing, monitoring, logging, and error handling. Build reproducible data processing systems with clear documentation and data lineage. What You Bring You're likely a great fit if you have... A solid foundation in Computer Science through a degree or equivalent hands-on experience. Strong Python skills, with excellent knowledge of pandas and writing clean, efficient, and maintainable code. A deep understanding of algorithms, data structures, computational complexity, and performance optimization. The ability to think critically about large-scale data processing, selecting the right tools and algorithms for datasets of varying sizes and computational constraints.
