The role The Field Engineer is a hands-on technical contributor responsible for diagnosing and resolving vehicle software and hardware issues to keep the fleet operational. In addition to core engineering responsibilities, this role will also support on-road testing and safety operations, contributing real-world feedback to improve vehicle performance and artificial intelligence systems. They will play a critical role in rapid fault triage, ensuring a 5-minute response time while strictly adhering to safety protocols. Working closely with fellow engineers, safety operators, and global teams, they will contribute to seamless operations through effective communication, technical expertise, and problem-solving. As part of a newly established function within Fleet Operations, the Field Engineer will help refine processes and drive efficiency in a fast-paced, high-impact environment. Key responsibilities: Perform on-site fault triage and resolution, diagnosing and repairing vehicle software and hardware issues quickly to maintain fleet uptime. Follow structured fault diagnosis and repair protocols, ensuring all work is carried out efficiently and in alignment with operational workflows. Collaborate with fellow field engineers, safety operators, and cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues effectively.
