YOUR IMPACT At Proxima Fusion, we are designing the first generation of fusion power plants to provide the world with clean, carbon-free energy. The density of the plasma in the reactor needs to be managed actively through fueling and the primary means to do so will be by injection of frozen hydrogen isotope pellets. We are looking for a versatile engineer to complement our team. You will work on progressing the development of pellet injector technologies and integrated systems. Whether you are coding a 1-D model or selecting components for a test setup, your work will contribute directly to commercial fusion becoming a reality. WHAT YOU WILL DO This role is a blend of concept development, development of modeling and analysis tools, hands-on experimental work and supplier and partner management. Design machines that accelerate 10K hydrogen isotope pellets into the plasma Utilize active risk management to guide your decisions Explore mitigation options to ensure feasibility Design in CAD, ensure production feasibility Manufacture prototypes to learn from physical reality Modeling Explore the design space by setting up the right models Test and validate models against experimental data Test components, subsystems and prototypes Develop test methodology and pl…
