HEY THERE We’re looking for a Senior Controller to join Yazio and take full ownership of our controlling function as we continue to scale. You will bring structure, rigour and depth to our monthly close, accounting operations and internal controls, setting the standard for how controlling operates at Yazio. At our current stage, with around 150 employees, the decisions you make around close architecture and accounting design will have a long-lasting impact and will shape how Finance operates for years to come. You will own and continuously improve our core accounting and controlling processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting and act as the in-house authority on technical accounting topics. Working closely with FP&A, Legal, Operations and external partners, you will support both day-to-day execution and complex accounting questions around new products and transactions. This role is 100% remote and open to candidates based in Germany, Spain, Portugal, or the U.K. YOUR MISSION Build, own and drive the monthly close end-to-end, ensuring fast, accurate and well-coordinated financial reporting with Accounting and key stakeholders Review and sign off on accruals, cut-off entries, reconciliations and reporting packages for Management and FP&A Act as the primary go-to for technical accounting questions, supporting new business models, contracts and complex accounting treatments Develop and maintain technical accounting documentation and position papers (for example, revenue recognition, capitalization, leases and other complex topics) Manage and coordinate external partners including accountants, tax advisors and auditors, ensuring strong documentation quality and smooth collaboration Continuously strengthen internal controls by spotting anomalies, following up on open items and improving control effectiveness over time Drive process and system improvements to reduce manual effort, increase close efficiency and build scalable, well-documented workflows Use AI tools to support analysis, variance explanations, audit preparation and accounting research—while ensuring full critical review and accountability for outputs Build a modern, scalable finance function through automation, standardization and continuous improvement YOUR PROFILE Several years o…
