Introduction We’re expanding and have a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our mechanical and biomedical engineering department. We want to deepen and broaden the skills we already have in the group, and to add to its great culture. This role would suit someone in the early stages of their career, looking for a new challenge within an innovative company. This team works predominantly across healthcare projects, and you will use your engineering skills at all stages of the development life-cycle, taking responsibility for design challenges and technical problems. What you’ll be doing The majority of your time will be spent delivering exceptional mechanical engineering for our multi-national medical technology clients, understanding their requirements and communicating clearly and effectively. You will be hands-on in solving complex mechanical challenges, often alongside other disciplines, within supportive project teams. You will work on projects across a range of healthcare sectors, including medical devices, drug delivery, surgical systems and diagnostics instruments. The technical challenges we tackle are ground-breaking, innovative and make a real difference to the landscape of medical technology. You will guide aspects of the mechanical development and define technical solutions, using your experience to design systems and parts for manufacture by applying real-world knowledge. Your work is likely to include: First-principles engineering analysis Concept generation and the development of engineering designs Rapid prototyping Hands-on testing and experimentation, including the design and execution of test programmes Detailed design for manufacture and assembly, and liaising with suppliers Presenting results, both internally and to clients Preparing technical reports and producing high-quality documentation Our culture encourages team members to take on the level of responsibility that suits them.
