About the Role: You will be part of a highly collaborative product team working at the core of our manufacturing facility, transforming digital models into physical elements at scale. Product Teams at GROPYUS own what they build, including underlying infrastructure, build pipelines, automated testing, release and rollout management, monitoring, and support. You will bring your experience in working with PLCs and/or other OT systems like e.g. robots, into the team. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will help evolve manufacturing systems from vendor-driven PLC and robot logic toward a modern, software-defined architecture. A central part of the role is to understand existing control logic, abstract it into maintainable software components, and gradually migrate relevant functionality into Python- based services and simulation-ready systems. Furthermore, our teams are also responsible for operating and troubleshooting the software they have developed during working hours of the factory. What you’ll be doing: As a Senior Software Engineer (f/m/d) on the Product Delivery team, you will be responsible for: Analyze and explain existing PLC (Siemens TIA Portal), robot (KUKA KRL), and OT code from external vendors, and help translate that knowledge into shared engineering understanding Design and implement Python-based software components that replace, abstract, or orchestrate legacy PLC and robot logic Build maintainable, testable, and well-structured services with a strong focus on code quality, modularity, and long-term ownership Bringing an operational mindset to monitor, maintain, and improve software uptime including reliable updates, latency, and efficiency Acting as a bridge between digital product delivery & physical logistics and manufacturing systems, ensuring both are aligned and integrated…
