Job description
eleQtron develops and operates full-stack quantum computers based on trapped-ion technology. Quantum computing is a new computing paradigm rapidly approaching commercial viability. Our unique approach combines laser-cooled trapped ions with microwave control and tailored magnetic fields. Our next-generation computing machines under development will be able to find solutions to problems that are out of reach today, thus enabling new innovative products and services for a brighter future. We are looking for a Senior UI/UX Engineer (m/f/d) to join us in Hamburg or Siegen and own the end-to-end experience of working with our quantum computers, from the customer-facing web platform for submitting quantum programs and exploring results to the internal interfaces used to run, monitor, and calibrate our machines in the lab. You set the design direction for both, and you build the component library that both are made of. This is a design-led role for someone who is not satisfied handing over a Figma file and hoping for the best . Responsibilities: Own the design direction for our customer-facing cloud platform and our internal operator interface, and keep them coherent as one product family Run the research: interview operators and physicists, observe real calibration workflows in the lab, and turn what you learn into design decisions Produce wireframes, interactive prototypes, and high-fidelity designs for both surfaces Build and own our design system as production-ready, tested components in code — the shared foundation that our engineers assemble applications from Make dense telemetry and calibration data legible: define the visualisation patterns that let operators see what matters at a glance Validate what ships: run usability tests on implemented interfaces and hold the quality bar between design intent and delivered product Shape APIs together with backend and platform engineers, advocating for the user's perspective early in the process Set the standard for accessibility, usability, and visual consistency, and raise the design literacy of the wider engineering team Required Skills: 5+ years of professional experience in product or interaction design, with a portfolio of shipped digital products Ability to build your own designs as reusable components in production code: confident with TypeScript and React, including component testing and documentation (e.g.…
