Job description
About Platform Engineering Platform Engineering ( platformengineering.org ) is home to the world's largest community of platform engineers. Through PlatformCon , one of the world's largest conferences dedicated to platform engineering, we bring together more than 50,000 engineers, technology leaders, and decision-makers every year to share ideas, showcase innovation, and shape the future of internal developer platforms. Alongside our events, we publish research, run a university, and produce content that reaches hundreds of thousands of engineers worldwide. In practice, we're a media house for a technical audience. About the Role We're looking for a Senior Video Producer to own video across the organization, end to end. This is a build-it role. We don't have a video function yet. What we have is freelancers, ambition, and an audience that already trusts us. You'll come in and create the system: how we shoot, how we edit, how we publish, and how our YouTube channel grows. You'll own the craft and the pipeline. That means editing the bulk of our output yourself, but also deciding what camera our founders point at themselves, how their rooms are lit, how their audio is captured, and what "good" looks like before anyone hits record. It means owning our YouTube channel as a channel, with packaging, Shorts, retention, and growth all in scope, rather than treating it as a place to upload finished files. We're a distributed team, so most of what we make is produced remotely. A few times a year we come together at offsites across Europe and beyond, and you'll turn those into concentrated production windows where we capture a quarter's worth of higher-production content in a few days. What you'll do Own end-to-end video production: concept, shoot setup, edit, post, publish, and performance review. Define and maintain our remote production standards for cameras, lenses, microphones, lighting, and backgrounds, and set up the team so a home office consistently produces broadcast-credible video. Coach on-camera talent, including our founders, on framing, audio, pacing, and delivery, and hold the standard once it's set. Edit the majority of our weekly output across long-form, interview, explainer, event, and short-form content. Own our YouTube channel: packaging, thumbnails, titles, descriptions, chapters, SEO, and publishing cadence. Build and run our Shorts strategy as…
